Wills, 23, has been invited to take part in ITV1's All Star Cup over August bank holiday weekend.

Alice Cooper, Meatloaf, Jodie Kidd, Gaby Logan and Ross Kemp are among stars who will compete for the Europe and America teams.

Bob Massie, of tournament organiser IMG, said yesterday: "IMG and ITV have invited Prince William to play at this year's event and he has told us he wants to be in it.

"I am advised His Royal Highness and his aides are currently working out his schedule to try to find a way. I am highly confident he will be at the tournament in August.""

Bosses have also approached Prince Andrew for the three-day event at the posh Celtic Manor Resort, in Newport, Pembrokeshire.

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas played in 2005 and £750,000 was raised for charity.

Ant said yesterday: "It is an opportunity for people who enjoy their golf to have a laugh."
